Schedule:The luxury transportation industry is one that requires vehicles to operate 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. In our industry, the weekends are when most people get married and celebrate special occasions, which makes the weekends the busiest time. Therefore, you must be prepared to work every weekend. Regular and punctual attendance is expected and required. For approved time off, a chauffeur must fill out a "Time off request" form and submit it for approval.
Although chauffeurs are given their base schedule twice a week, (weekend schedule is given on Wednesday, weekday schedule is given on Saturday) it is very common for more rentals to come in and be added to a base schedule.
It is also very common for "last minute" rentals to come in, sometimes with only an hour or twos notice. This is the busiest time of year and a great time to apply. There are two positions available, below is a brief description of each:
The Weekday/Weekend position: Chauffeurs must be available to work any day and time weekday and weekend VIP assigns each weekday/weekend chauffeur with one day off per week. This day off is generally the same day every week, however, it may be altered if the need arises for full staff that day.
Due to the nature of the business, it is impossible to pinpoint the exact amount of rentals or hours a chauffeur will work in any given work week, however, a common schedule could include approximately 3 or more rentals during the week plus 2 rentals on both Friday and Saturday. (a 3 to 6 hour Wedding rental in the afternoon followed by a 5 or more hour evening rental at night on Friday and Saturday is common) and every other Sunday.
The Weekend Position: Chauffeurs must be available to work every Friday night, Saturday and Saturday night and every other Sunday. (Being available on Friday afternoon in addition to Friday night is not mandatory but is a plus)
Dress Code: The Company dress code for Chauffeurs is a solid black suit consisting of matching black slacks and jacket, a solid white shirt with collar, a solid black tie, black socks, and black closed toe shoes and a chauffeur's cap. Clothing must be clean and of a professional nature. No body or tongue piercing will be permitted while working except for one earring in each ear.
Pay Rate: With the combination of an hourly pay and gratuities, chauffeurs generally make up to $25.00 per hour or more because clients may tip extra according to the service they receive.
The Chauffeur's position can be a very exciting and rewarding position, it can also be a very lucrative position for a service oriented person. It is beneficial to obtain a CDL "P" license so large vehicles can be driven.
Benefits: Not available at this time.
